Welcome to Kahaniwaala ("we," "our," "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information of everyone who uses kahaniwaala.com — viewers, commenters, and creators alike.
By using this website, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
Information you give us:name and email address (when you create an account, via email/password or Google Sign-In), profile details (display name, avatar), comments, likes, and chat messages you post, story submissions if you're a creator (title, description, category, video/thumbnail files), and anything you send us directly by email.
Information collected automatically: IP address, browser type, device and operating system, pages visited, viewing history and engagement (likes, comments, watch activity), date and time of visits, referring website, and cookies and similar technologies.
We use it to run and improve the platform (accounts, comments, likes, chat, story submissions), personalize what you see, respond to support requests and grievances, maintain security and prevent abuse or fraud, understand how the site is used, support the platform through advertising once we introduce it (see Section 5), and comply with legal obligations under Indian law.
We use cookies for two purposes today: to keep you signed in (essential/session cookies, via our authentication provider), and to understand site traffic through Google Analytics, which sets its own cookies (e.g. _ga) to distinguish visitors. Essential cookies are necessary for the site to function — logging in, commenting, and liking stories all depend on them.
We are planning to introduce advertising in the near future, which will involve advertising cookies or similar technologies (from us and/or our ad partners) used to deliver and measure ads. We will update this section to name the specific providers before advertising goes live, not after.
You can disable cookies through your browser settings, but this will prevent you from signing in or using account features.
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use Kahaniwaala — which pages and stories are viewed, how people arrive at the site, and general device and location information. Google Analytics uses cookies (see Section 3) to do this and operates under Google's own privacy policy. We use this data only in aggregate, to improve Kahaniwaala — not to identify individual visitors.
Kahaniwaala does not currently show advertisements. We plan to introduce advertising, including in-video ads, to help support the platform and pay creators through revenue share.
Once advertising is live:
We do not sell your personal information.
We share information only:
We take reasonable technical and organizational steps to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Kahaniwaala hosts content suitable for a general audience, including children (moral stories, fairy tales, mythology), alongside content intended for older audiences (horror, crime, romance). Anyone can watch public stories without creating an account.
Creating an account (to comment, like, or submit stories) requires you to be at least 18 years old, or to have the consent of a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate consent. If we learn that we've collected a child's information without proper consent, we will delete it promptly — contact us at surose.ashish@gmail.com if you believe this has happened.
Once advertising is live on Kahaniwaala, we will not show targeted or behavioral advertising, and will not use tracking for ad-personalization purposes, on content or accounts we know to be used by children.
Our site may link to third-party websites (e.g. a creator's social media). We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and you should review their policies separately.
You may have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, email surose.ashish@gmail.com. We'll respond as promptly as we reasonably can.
We keep your information only as long as necessary to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our policies. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data, though some information may be retained where required by law.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect once posted on this page. Continued use of Kahaniwaala after a change means you accept the updated policy.
